Ontario Provincial Police say a 36-year-old man has died in a single vehicle crash Saturday in Essex.
Police said the man was traveling east on Concession Road 3 near Arner Townline when he lost control of his white, Pontiac Montana and struck a tree.
The man, who was traveling alone, was found dead on scene at 6:35 p.m., by OPP, Essex Fire Service and Emergency Medical Service workers.
OPP Const. Dave Latkovskis said an autopsy will be conducted Monday.
Police said it appeared the man hit a tree with the side of his vehicle, which came to rest in a field beside the road. Police said there were no skid marks on the street and the man was found underneath the vehicle.
As of Saturday at 10 p.m., Concession Road 3 between Essex County Road 23 and McCormick side road remained closed for investigation.
The OPP technical traffic collision investigators are expected to remain on scene for several hours.
Police said the name of the deceased will be released once next of kin has been notified.
