A fire that ripped through two homes in Leamington earlier this week has been deemed suspicious.

Ontario Provincial Police said evidence found on scene of the Marlborough Street West fire has led investigators to believe the blaze was intentionally set.

The fire broke out in a garage around 4:30 a.m. on May 18 and spread to two homes, causing about $325,000 in damage.

The OPP crime unit, forensic unit and the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office are investigating the fire.

Police are not disclosing what evidence was found on scene but are asking anyone with information to call Det. Bawden of the OPP crime unit at 519-723-2491.

Tips can be made anonymously to Crime Stoppers by calling 519-258-8477.
