A 21-year-old Amherstburg man is facing a slew of charges after he attempted to evade police early Saturday morning.
Amherstburg police said they attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of South Riverview Drive and County Road 8 after it had been observed squealing its tires and speeding off.
The motorist was eventually stopped on Malden Road in LaSalle around 1:30 a.m.
The man was charged with driving while impaired, fleeing while pursued by an officer, operating a vehicle with no insurance and permit, driving while under suspension and driving a vehicle with an open container of liquor.
He was released with a promise to appear in court next month.
