A motorcyclist was killed and his passenger taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a two-vehicle collision that shut down part of North Talbot Road in Lakeshore Monday night.
Police say a Kia Soul was travelling eastbound on North Talbot Road just west of Naylor Sideroad about 6 p.m. Monday when a westbound Harley Davidson motorcycle on the same road crossed over into the eastbound lane, striking the Kia, said police.
The driver of the motorcycle, Wayne Cassidy, 61, of Lakeshore, was rushed to hospital but died from injuries sustained in the collision. The female motorcycle passenger was taken to hospital, with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, a female, was not injured in the crash.
North Talbot Road was closed for several hours between Naylor Sideroad and Hopgood Sideroad.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
