The federal government is expected to announce a new project at Hike Metal Products on Thursday.
The Wheatley ship builder was in the spotlight recently after it was quickly disqualified from the bid process to build the new $40-million Pelee Island ferry.
Dave Van Kesteren, MP Chatham-Kent Essex, will make the announcement on behalf of the Minister of Public Works and Government Services Diane Finley.
The announcement takes place Thursday morning at Hike Metal Products in Wheatley.
