A Level 1 heat alert has been issued by the health unit for Windsor and Essex County, where humidex values are expected to be 40C or higher Saturday.
Environment Canada also issued a special weather statement warning of “scattered thunderstorms possibly producing significant rainfall amounts” Friday afternoon. The all clear was sounded shortly before 4:30 p.m.
The alert was issued early Friday afternoon and is in effect until 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
The temperature was 27C in Windsor Friday afternoon.
Environment Canada is calling for a high of 30C Saturday with a 60 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon and a high of 33 C Sunday.
