Cedar Beach is closed this weekend as water tests taken Wednesday showed a bacterial count in excess of 1,000.
Swimming is not recommended at the following beaches, which had bacterial counts exceeding 100: Sandpoint, West Belle River, Hillman, Point Pelee (northwest), Mettawas, Cedar Island, Colchester and Holiday.
However, the blue-green algae advisory for Hillman Marsh has been rescinded after lab tests confirmed the presence of microcystins has dropped to an acceptable level.
