LaSalle councillors approved a nearly five-year extension of its contract with Krautner Janitorial for cleaning services at the town’s police services building.
Krautner has been under contract with the town since October 2013. Its one-year contract was extended another year in November 2014.
In a report to council, CAO Kevin Miller recommended the second contract extension for four years and nine months, which will coincide with the end of a similar contract Krautner has to clean the town’s civic centre.
“In discussions with staff from the police services, they are extremely happy with the services provided by Krautner Janitorial and are in full support of an extension,” Miller said.
Council approved the contract based on the 2013 pay rate plus a three per cent increase for the entirety of the contract. That increase works out to an additional $1,737 over the four years and nine months.
