How short-sighted is Windsor’s decision to support the big box development at Ojibway? As Jarvis stated, “jobs” and “the city’s image” are connected. It’s true.
Look at any jurisdiction in North America that is considered to be a great place to live and you will find a robust and growing economy. People and companies want to be a part of it. It’s a natural fit.
A 450,000 sq. ft. shopping centre is not what Windsor needs. Why keep hollowing out the entire city for the purpose of short-term gain?
By the way, is there any master plan to stop urban sprawl in Essex County and conserve green space? We need to think long-term, not short-term.
