Saving environment only good business

Re: Ojibway should be a provincial park, by Bob Jozsi, April 6.

I totally agree.

Common sense tells me that if someone builds the big box store anywhere in the area, consumers will come. Some government and business people are short-sighted and fail to consider the ramifications of building in environmentally sensitive areas.

I believe that it is the duty of municipal leadership to seriously consider the rights of the population to experience and enjoy Essex County as it was originally.

I find it difficult to understand how a few hundred thousand citizens can remain silent while a business that would flourish in other areas destroys centuries of evolution, causing us to fail to save our precious link with our natural past.

I believe that with our amazing flora and fauna, Essex County will soon sustain a flourishing eco-tourism industry and that would include much of the west side of Windsor.

Essex County residents need to stand up for our natural heritage otherwise it will eventually disappear. Simply as a matter of business.

PETE THOMAS, Windsor
