LaSalle police have arrested a man after he allegedly returned the scene of a previous crime and tried to steal two laptops.
Police said they responded to a call at Shoppers Drug Mart at 6020 Malden Rd., on Sunday after a suspect reportedly stole two laptops.
Witnesses on scene said the man had fled on foot and was last seen running towards Sprucewood Avenue with other witnesses in pursuit.
Officers converged on the intersection of Malden and Sprucewood and observed a man trying to seize control of a vehicle stopped at the intersection.
LaSalle police said the responding officers boxed the vehicle in with their cruisers and arrested the man at gunpoint.
Employees at Shoppers Drug Mart told police it was the same suspect who allegedly stole two laptops from the store on July 22.
In a news release, LaSalle police thanked the public for their quick actions and the community outreach of those helping to identify the suspect.
