This year’s local plowing match is coming to the edge of Windsor.
On Saturday, the farm of Leo Hayes at 3850 County Road 17 east of the airport will host the 2016 Essex County Plowing Match.
The competition includes horses pulling plows, antique tractors and modern farm equipment.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and admission and parking are free. The rain date is Aug. 20.
Some plowers compete to earn a spot at this year’s International Plowing Match. It will be held Sept. 20-24 near Harriston in Wellington County.
