1) The Bluesfest is kicking off its 20th year with a press conference today in The Windsor Star News Cafe. The event runs from 11:30 to 1:30 and all are welcome. The Bluesfest takes place July 11 to July 13. Click here to read Ted Shaw’s set up piece.
2) In Leamington this morning they will be breaking ground on a new Hospice facility. The 10-bed Erie Shores Campus Hospice Residential Home is located on 3.5 acres of land across from Leamington Hospital. More than 200 residents, stakeholders and dignitaries are expected to attend the event at 10:45 a.m.

4) St. Clair College President John Strasser is retiring. Strasser was a popular and approachable president who oversaw the expansion of St. Clair College into the downtown core. His retirement was announced on Twitter by college spokesperson John Fairley.

5) Riverside High School students will bury a time capsule at 9:15 a.m. The school had recently dug up a time capsule with memories and photos that were put into the ground 50 years ago.
6) In sports, Windsor and Essex County high schoolers are taking to the pitch for OFSAA soccer with games all day across the area.
Canada’s Eugenie bouchard takes on Maria Sharapova at 9 a.m. in the semi-finals of the French Open.
And the Detroit Tigers square off for Round 3 against the Toronto Blue Jays at 1:08 p.m. at Comerica Park. The Blue Jays thumped the slumping Tigers 8-2 yesterday.
