For the ninth year farmers will decorate their tractors with lights, reindeer and snowmen for Viewpointe Estate Winery’s pre-Christmas celebration.
The Lighted Tractor Parade was an idea inspired by a Californian winery and has become the county’s Christmas party, said event co-ordinator Esther Reaume.
“It’s a lot of fun and it really is quite spectacular to see them all come parading down our beach road and then they circle around the parking lot,” she said.
The parade is Dec. 4 at the County Road 50 winery. The event starts at 4:30 p.m. with parade organizers waiting until darkness to get the tractors going. There will be a Santa, the Grinch and Buddy The Elf making special appearances for the kids and mulled wine and spiced Christmas Sangria for adults. Windsor Classic Chorale will be singing carols at 4:30 p.m., and there will be a Christmas Rock live performance at 5:30 p.m.
The parade is free but reservations are required for the buffet and awards party after the parade at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25. For reservations call 519-738-0690.
