A group of five Windsor teens are facing charges following an attempted armed robbery early Monday morning.
Chatham-Kent police said officers responded to reports of a break and enter in progress at an apartment on Merritt Avenue shortly before 2 a.m.
Investigation revealed that four men, wearing disguises, attempted to gain entry to an apartment while carrying a firearm.
Police said minor damage was caused to the patio screen door and the men fled the area once the homeowner called 911.
A fifth person was waiting in a vehicle and police said the incident was not a random act of violence.
About an hour later, police located the vehicle and the men in a Chatham parking lot. Officers discovered and seized balaclavas and a black air soft gun in the vehicle.
Two 18-year-old men and two 19-year-old men, all from Windsor, were arrested and charged with robbery and firearm related offences.
A 16-year-old from Windsor was also arrested for the same offences.
