Seven months after a Lakeshore man was killed in a two-car collision, provincial police have charged a woman with running a stop sign.
The two-vehicle crash occurred around 2:20 p.m. July 18, 2016, on County Road 23 at South Middle Road in Lakeshore. Essex County OPP said a Chevrolet minivan and a Mercedes SUV collided at the intersection. The driver of the minivan died at the scene. Police never released his identity.
The 70-year-old driver of the Mercedes suffered life-threatening injuries but has since been released from hospital. She has been charged with disobeying a stop sign. Investigators are not revealing her name.
Police said one of the reasons it took so long to charge her was her lengthy hospital stay.
