Drivers across Windsor-Essex had to deal with foggy conditions on Sunday that continued even into nightfall.
Environment Canada’s weather office issued fog advisories throughout the weekend — with the latest remaining in effect as of 6:30 p.m.
“Near zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring,” said Environment Canada.
Drivers were told to “slow down, watch for tail lights ahead, and be prepared to stop.”
A fog advisory was in effect on Sunday morning, then briefly lifted, then re-instated for the afternoon and into the evening.
Windsor-Essex wasn’t the only area under the blanket. Environment Canada had similar long-lasting advisories for Chatham-Kent, Sarnia, London, and the Halton-Peel region.
Cloudy skies with showers were forecast for Windsor-Essex on Monday morning. The fog was expected to dissipate with 20 km/h winds northeasterly winds.
