An 18-year-old female from Leamington is facing charges after she allegedly threw a knife at a police officer.
The incident happened on Saturday afternoon in Kent County.
Chatham-Kent police were called around 4:40 p.m. to a disturbance on Pier Road in Romney Township.
There, the responding officer encountered the teenage female.
According to police, during the girl’s interaction with the officer, she threw the knife and then “became assaultive.”
The knife missed the officer.
The female was arrested. She now faces charges of assaulting a peace officer with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
As of Monday, she was being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
