Amherstburg police have charged a Windsor man and are looking for a possible accomplice in connection with a series of thefts from unlocked vehicles.
Police were called on Aug. 19 around 5:30 a.m. about an individual who had been seen going through parked vehicles in the neighbourhoods of Golfview and Pointe West.
Officers attended and located the suspect, who was found to be in possession of stolen property.
Christopher Chapman, 30, of Windsor, was arrested and eventually charged with seven counts of trespassing at night, four counts of possession of property obtained by crime, mischief to property, and possession of break-in tools.
Investigators believe other individuals were involved in the thefts. According to Amherstburg police, one potential male accomplice was recorded on a security camera at a 7-Eleven convenience store in Windsor, at 925 Ottawa St.
The image was captured on Aug. 25 at 9:43 a.m.

Amherstburg police remind the public to “lock it or lose it.” Vehicles, houses, sheds, garages and other property should always be secured in order to deter theft.
