Two Toronto men are facing traffic and drug charges after fleeing the Essex OPP in Harrow and eventually ending up in Amherstburg.
At around 11:30 p.m. a member of the Essex OPP attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on Essex County Road 20 in Harrow.
As the vehicle slowed to pull over, a passenger exited and fled on foot while the vehicle then accelerated and headed westbound.
The passenger was located by officers and arrested for offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
A short time later the same vehicle was observed by an Amherstburg police officer around Essex County roads 11 and 18 .
The officer attempted to stop the vehicle and it was last seen entering a parking lot on Essex County Road 12.
The driver then fled the vehicle. He was quickly contained by officers and the OPP canine unit and emergency response team eventually placed him under arrest.
Prince Charles, 21, of North York is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police and driving while suspended. He will appear in court in Windsor on Jan. 9.
Tracy Walker, 21, also of North York, is charged with possession of a schedule 1 substance and possession of a schedule 2 substance. He will appear in court in Windsor on Jan. 8.
