A pedestrian who was struck by a minivan north of Leamington on Wednesday night suffered life-threatening injuries, say OPP.
The collision happened shortly before 6:45 p.m. on Mersea Road 6 near County Road 77.
Police said the minivan was travelling east on Mersea Road 6 when the collision occurred.
The pedestrian was rushed to an area hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the minivan wasn’t hurt.
The incident required the closure of Mersea Road 6 between County Road 77 and Mersea Road 12 for six hours while OPP collision investigators examined the scene.
There are plant farms and nurseries in the area, as well as the North Leamington United Mennonite Church and UMEI Christian High School.
