No one was hurt after a big rig hauling two tanker trailers lost an axle on Highway 3 on Tuesday.
Essex County OPP said the incident happened around 12:30 p.m. on Highway 3 east of Walker Road, in the municipality of Tecumseh.
The transport truck was heading west on Highway 3 when an axle became dislodged on the rear tanker trailer.
Fortunately, no other vehicles were involved.
One lane of Highway 3 had to be closed for about three hours while the damaged vehicle and debris were removed from the roadway.
The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario is investigating the incident.
OPP said charges are pending.
