Essex County OPP assure that there are no safety concerns after bathroom graffiti raised alarm at St. Anne Catholic High School in Lakeshore on Monday afternoon.
Police were contacted around 2 p.m. after staff discovered writing in a first-floor bathroom stall that appeared to indicate a threat towards the school.
OPP said the staff members followed protocol by alerting police. However, further investigation found that the message was faded — Police do not believe it was written recently.
Word of the graffiti spread on social media and OPP received several calls from concerned parents.
In a statement on Monday night, OPP sought to alleviate such worries and emphasized that all necessary steps had been taken regarding the safety of students and staff.
St. Anne Catholic High School opened at its regular time on Tuesday morning.
