An investigation is continuing into what caused a fire that destroyed a home in Belle River on Monday.
Lakeshore firefighters were called during the early morning hours to a house in the 200 block of Broadway Street, between 11th and Ducharme Street.
The Lakeshore Fire Department battled the blaze for more than two hours, forcing the closure of that section of the street.
No one was hurt, but the home was left completely uninhabitable because of fire damage.
By the time firefighters cleared the scene, much of the structure was blackened and in a state of collapse.
A dollar value on the damage was still being estimated as of Monday afternoon.
