A special air quality statement has been issued for Windsor and Essex County, where “high levels of air pollution are expected” on a hot and muggy Sunday.
“Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations in the area,” said Environment Canada in a bulletin issued Sunday morning.
It is at least the second air quality advisory of the season, coming on the heels of one issued Friday.
Sunday’s forecast calls for a high of 31 C with a 30 per cent chance of showers late in the afternoon.
Sunshine and high of 31 C is on tap for Monday and a high of 29 C is forecast for Tuesday.
