Ontario Provincial Police say a female resident of a home in Leamington was injured as she tried to flee from three armed males who had forced their way inside.
The crime occurred at a residence in the 100 block of Oak Street around 5:20 a.m. on Monday.
According to investigators, a male resident answered the door and was confronted by three males carrying weapons.
The suspects entered the home, and the female resident attempted to climb out a window — becoming hurt in the process.
Two of the male invaders had hidden faces. OPP believe the remaining suspect, who wore no disguise, is known to the victims.
The three suspects left the home on foot and remain at large.
Police described the incident as isolated, but also said it could be related to a disturbance that happened a few hours previous outside a business on Talbot Street West.
