A Windsor man is facing assault charges after a New Year’s Eve incident in Leamington left another man with stab injuries that police describe as “potentially life-altering.”
OPP said the alleged assault involved an “edged weapon” and was reported on Monday evening around 6 p.m.
The bleeding victim — a 24-year-old Leamington man — flagged down a stranger’s vehicle on Whitwam Avenue, saying that he had just been stabbed.
The driver took the man to hospital.
OPP investigated and identified a suspect. Officers attended an apartment building on Lutsch Avenue where they arrested a 21-year-old Windsor man.
The name of the accused was not released at press time.
OPP said the suspect will be charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.
The investigation continues.
