OPP have released the name of the man accused of inflicting potentially life-altering injuries on another male in Leamington on New Year’s Eve.

Robert Low, 21, of Windsor, faces charges of assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.

Since his arrest on Dec. 31, he has been released from custody and is scheduled to later appear in a Windsor courtroom.

The injured male remains in hospital.

OPP said the victim — a 24-year-old Leamington man — flagged down a passing driver on Whitwam Street in Leamington around 6 p.m. on Dec. 31.

The bleeding man said he’d just been stabbed. The driver took him to an area hospital.

Police have not disclosed the nature of the victim’s injuries, nor his current condition.

Police have also not revealed the exact weapon used, only describing it as an “edged weapon.”

The accused was found later the same night at an apartment complex on Lutsch Avenue.

OPP said their investigation continues. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 1-888-310-1122.
