UPDATE: In an updated weather statement issued at 3:30 p.m., Environment Canada warns that between 15 to 40 millimetres of rain could fall.

Don’t forget your umbrella — Environment Canada is forecasting a soggy few days for Windsor and Essex County.

The national weather agency released a special weather statement Monday morning, warning of the wet weather ahead.

A complex low pressure system is expected to approach the Great Lakes from the southwest and dump rain on the region later today.

The slow moving system is forecasted to take a couple of days to move across southern Ontario

Rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm are expected in most places.
