Masked man robs Belle River convenience store

Provincial police are asking for help to find the masked man who robbed a Belle River convenience store late Sunday.

Essex County OPP said the man entered a store in the 400 block of Notre Dame Street around 10:45 p.m.

The man pulled out a weapon – police won’t say what it was – and demanded cash from the clerk. After the victim handed over the money, the robber fled.

Several officers arrived within minutes but couldn’t track him down.

Police said he was white, five-foot-seven to five-foot-eight and 140 to 150 pounds with an average or thin build. He was wearing a black jacket, black pants, black running shoes with white soles and laces, black gloves and a black balaclava.
