Amherstburg will throw open its doors and show off its cultural attractions this weekend while highlighting its waterfront history.
Tourism co-ordinator Jen Ibrahim said the town is participating in the provincial Doors Open initiative and the national Culture Days, which run concurrently Sept. 26-27.
There will be a variety of activities for visitors including storytelling, re-enactments, guided walking tours, concert performances, crafts, an outdoor movie and more. In addition, several historic sites will be open for tours including the Park House Museum, Gibson Art Gallery, Marsh Collection, St. John the Baptist Church and the Boblo Island blockhouse.
All activities and access to participating locations are free. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A brochure with an itinerary and map will be available at the Gordon House, 268 Dalhousie St., during the event.
