Rainfall warning issued for Windsor and Essex County

A rainfall warning has been issued for Windsor and Essex County, where as much as 50 millimetres of rain is expected to douse the area.

“A band of slow moving showers is currently located across the Windsor area and it is expected to persist through the afternoon and into the early evening,” said Environment Canada i a bulleting issued at 1:48 pm.

“Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.”
