Kingsville resident Angela Tintinalli plans on enjoying her $50,000 windfall from playing the instant scratch game Quest for Gold Crossword.
“I want to use my winnings to do something very special and memorable. I’ve always wanted to travel to Italy and Greece,” Tintinalli told Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation staff when she picked up her prize cheque on Wednesday.
Tintinalli also said a new pontoon boat would be “the perfect addition” to her and her husband’s waterfront property, and she’d love to treat her sisters and best friends to a day at the spa.
Tintinalli bought the lucky scratch game at the Daisy Mart at 241 Main St. W. in Kingsville on May 7.
She played the ticket a couple hours after purchasing it, and at first thought she’d won just $100. “I quickly figured out that it was a lot more than that,” she said.
“We couldn’t wait to get back to the store and validate the ticket, but I told my husband to drive very slowly and carefully because I didn’t want anything to happen to us or to that ticket.”
Tintinalli said this is her first big win on an instant scratch game. Quest for Gold Crossword tickets are $3 each, with $50,000 being the top prize.
Players must uncover 11 words on their ticket to win the top prize. The odds of doing so are one in 1,993,061.
A portion of proceeds from this game go to the province’s Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport to support amateur athletes.
