Heavy rain across Windsor and Essex County has forced the closure of roads and knocked out power to hundreds.
Windsor police reported a sinkhole on Lilac Lane between Lauzon Road and Esplanade Drive.
Tecumseh fire said Tecumseh Road East between Lesperance Road and Southfield Drive is flooded, with some motorists leaving their vehicles.
Riverside Drive East between Pillette and Lauzon roads is closed because of flooding.
Hydro One said more than 1,800 customers in Leamington are without power.
Environment Canada issued a rainfall warning for the region Wednesday evening.
The national weather service said 15 to 40 millimetres of rain have fallen since Wednesday afternoon.
An additional 45 to 70 mm is forecasted to fall across the region by Friday evening.
The rain is being produced by a low moving low pressure system over the Ohio Valley.
Environment Canada said the heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
