The serious head-on collision in Lakeshore on Sunday evening was a fatal one, say OPP: All three of the occupants of the two vehicles involved have died.
The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. on County Road 42 just east of Elmstead Road in Lakeshore.
One of the vehicles was carrying a couple from Windsor.
The other vehicle was being driven by a man from Lakeshore.
OPP revealed on Monday morning that the collision had no survivors. Police have not released the identities of the deceased.
The investigation continues and witnesses are still being sought for the incident. Anyone who saw what happened is urged to call OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
The crash forced the closure of County Road 42 between Elmstead Road and Lakeshore Road 103 for more than seven hours. The route was re-opened to traffic around 1:30 a.m. Monday.
A silver Ford Edge was visible at the scene with severe front end damage.
County Road 42 has two lanes and no median where the collision occurred. The posted speed limit is 80 km/h.
There is a Shell gas station at the intersection of County Road 42 and Elmstead Road, and some residences on the south side of County Road 42 before the intersection with Lakeshore Road 103.
