It might be back to school for the kids, but we’re still dealing with hot summer temperatures in Windsor-Essex.
A heat warning from Environment Canada that started last week is expected to remain in effect until at least Wednesday night.
Meteorologists predict daytime temperatures will reach 32 C (89.6 F), with humidex values nearing or exceeding 41.
Even after the sun sets Tuesday, overnight temperatures are forecasted to remain around 21 C (69.8 F).
Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible.
The late summer conditions are due to a hot and very humid airmass that has been sitting on the southwestern Ontario region.
Relief should come Wednesday night as a cold front moves into the area.
In the meantime, the public is advised to watch out for those vulnerable to extreme temperatures, and to not leave people or pets inside parked vehicles.
