Two men and a woman are facing multiple charges after their arrests in connection with a recent string of theft incidents in Lakeshore and Tecumseh.

Essex County OPP said there has been a rise in property crimes in those two municipalities in the month of August — including cases of breaking and entering, thefts from vehicles, vehicle theft, and mischief to property.

Through the collaboration and investigative efforts of patrol officers and members of the OPP Community Street Crime Unit, three suspects were identified, located, and taken into custody.

Cindy Albano, 47, of Windsor, faces charges of theft from a motor vehicle (value under $5,000), fraudulent use of a credit card, possession of break-in tools, possession of stolen property (value under $5,000), possession of stolen property (value exceeding $5,000), and failing to comply with a court-ordered undertaking.

Kristopher Allaire, 37, of Lakeshore, faces a similar array of charges.

Douglas Hines, 31, of Windsor, has been charged with two counts of possession of property obtained by crime (value under $5,000), theft from a motor vehicle (value under $5,000), trespassing by night, and possession of more than 30 grams of a Schedule II controlled substance (most commonly cannabis, in Canada).

Police advise that their investigation is continuing and other suspects are being sought.

Essex County OPP further advise that residents of the region should be vigilant about crime in their communities and discourage theft by keeping vehicles, valuables, and property locked or secured.

Anyone wishing to report an incident — however minor — is asked to call provincial police at 1-888-310-1122.
