The discovery of a car precariously balanced on the edge of a culvert in Essex led to impaired driving charges against a motorist, say Essex County OPP.
Police responded on Dec. 14 around 8 p.m. to a property owner on South Malden Road.
Officers arrived to find a red four-sedan partially hanging over the lip of the large ditch at the entrance to the driveway of a residence.
The adult male driver of the vehicle was at the scene. The officers spoke with him and found him to be showing signs of impairment.
The man was arrested and later charged. The vehicle was removed from the property and impounded.
Rene Perron, 55, of Chatham, faces one count of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and one count of driving with blood alcohol content in excess of 0.08.
The accused is scheduled for a court appearance in Windsor on Jan. 17.
