With more than 1,000 tickets already sold, the first-ever Kingsville Folk Music Festival, Aug. 8 to 10, appears to be headed for a huge success.

And the lineup is equally impressive.

The cream of Canadian folk music will descend on Kingsville’s Lakeside Park, where performances will take place on five separate stages.

Besides Bruce Cockburn, performers include Jane Siberry, Valdy, David Francey, Ray Bonneville, J.P. Cormier, Ken Whiteley, Fred Penner and Russell de Carle. Festival organizers The Laws, Michele and John, will also perform as part of the festival finale on Sunday, Aug. 10.

Performances take place starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday. The Sunday morning gospel show features Ken Whiteley.

Single day passes are $35 on Friday, and $55 on Saturday and Sunday. Weekend passes for all three days are $90. Prices do not include taxes and handling fees. Tickets can be purchased at the gate, at ticket locations in Kingsville, Chatham and Windsor, or online at kingsvillefolkfest.org.
