The driver of a transport truck is facing a charge of careless driving for his involvement in a fatal multi-vehicle collision in Kingsville in early November.
Harpreet Singh, 28, of Montreal, Quebec, was behind the wheel of a tractor trailer on County Road 18 on the morning of Nov. 3.
According to Kingsville OPP, Singh was attempting to negotiate the transport truck into a commercial property between County Road 31 and 34 around 6 a.m.
Two vehicles in the eastbound lane of County Road 18 collided with the trailer and each other.
A total of seven people were hurt, with injuries ranging from minor to life-threatening.
Windsor resident Sameera Nona, 52, was a passenger in one of the vehicles in the crash — a Dodge minivan. She did not survive her injuries.
Singh has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act and is expected to appear in a Windsor court on Dec. 18.
